COVID-19 Update

March 14, 2020

7 "For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity,

but of power, love, and self-discipline." (2 Timothy 1:7 | NLT)

In a season of uncertainty, we hold onto the promise and the power of Christ and HIS perfect love, which we know casts out all fear. Our community needs to know the love of Jesus now more than ever before and we get to be a part of proactively loving people to Jesus! We are committed to caring for our community in this time of crisis. We will not respond in fear. Instead, we will operate out of faith as we live out our very existence as a church: To be a community where people encounter Jesus and their lives are changed forever! We implore you to help us reach our community for Christ.

This latest message is to inform you of some changes that CBC is making as the COVID-19 crisis continues to evolve.

Tomorrow we will have ONLINE opportunities to worship with our CBC family at 9:15AM & 11AM. As leadership, we feel that it's our social responsibility to aid our community in every effort to protect the health and wellbeing of everyone and especially our amazing elderly population and those that may be at a higher risk of illness. As a church, we are excited to partner with our local officials in collectively combating exposure to COVID-19 to the best of our abilities.

We encourage everyone to connect with us tomorrow through our Online Campus. You can do this one of two ways:

First, you can find and "Subscribe" to our YouTube channel, which will give you notifications anytime we are going "live" or when a message has been added to our collection of messages. We want to encourage everyone to both subscribe to our YouTube channel as well as helping us get the word out to others so that we continue to collectively share the love of Jesus through our technological capabilities.

Next, you can go to and simply click the "WATCH LIVE" tab on our home page. This will automatically redirect you to our Online Community and give you access to be a part of what God continues to do in and through CBC and all across our community.

Our policy has been to honor our families, school, and local officials by choosing to keep to the Blair School District calendar. At this time all activities throughout the greater Blair district have been cancelled next week in an effort to exercise a greater vigilance in helping to protect everyone through the practice or social distancing, which means that we are cancelling all midweek activities during the week of March 15 - 22. As this situation continues to evolve, we will work closely with the Center for Disease Control and our local health officials in making the best decisions for our church and community thereafter. Continue to check back on our website and YouTube channel for the latest information and announcements.

As a church and leadership, our response is clear:

  • We do not want to operate out of fear, but are trusting God in faith!

  • We have made the decision to suspend services and activities this week in an effort to honor those government officials that are recommending extra-caution as well as to protect our church and the community that we love, a community that God has entrusted to our care.

  • We want to care for those that are most vulnerable by doing our part to protect against the spread of COVID-19; this is truly out of a heart of loving our neighbors as we love ourselves.

Absolutely! As a church, we are working closely with several local organizations to not only assess the greatest needs, but to determine the best course of action in an effort to meet the needs of those in our community. Pastor Steve Doolin and our leadership are hard at work developing a plan to mobilize our church for greatest impact. As such, we are asking you to consider 2 things:

  1. Pray - Please join us as we pray. We're praying for God's comfort and care through this season of uncertainty. As we mentioned in our last update, we may not know what the future holds, but we trust God who holds the future! We will continue to lean into the Holy Spirit as we pray for our community, for our officials, and for our church to love people to Jesus.

  2. Participate - We are working hard to mobilize CBC in an effort to radically reach our community for Christ! We need you to participate with us as we work together to meet the many needs of our community and county. Please consider participating financially, above and beyond your already generous tithes. You can participate and help us reach further and farther by going to  or by giving online HERE. This is a free and easy way to participate with us and will go a long way in making a difference throughout our community!

Stay tuned as we work to mobilize throughout our community and role out plans for how we will respond to our community needs as a church in the days ahead. Check back often and be sure to Subscribe to our YouTube channel for the latest updates.

Please take a minute and watch the latest video announcement from CBC leadership. And remember that God is faithful - he's not caught off guard or surprised by any of what's going on around us. God is good and his love endures forever! So in this season of uncertainty we will continue to lean into the Holy Spirit. We will pray. We will mobilize as a church and serve our community. We will give generously and radically. We will sacrificially and intentionally worship God. We will continue to put our trust in Jesus. And we will celebrate the victories in Christ every step of the way!

Looking forward to worshiping with you tomorrow at 9:15AM & 11AM as part of our Online Community!
